On November 19, 2014 the final conference of the nationwide project “On the virtual highway – the endless opportunities for your future business!” took place in the Hall of the Scientific Council of NTU "KPI". Maxim Striha, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine and Anna Kuzma, Head of the department on scientific and educational cooperation of the Polish Embassy in Ukraine, solemnly opened a conference and said a welcome word.

Participants of the conference have learned about the project “On the virtual highway – the endless opportunities for your future business!” and its results from the coordinator of the project - Krzysztof Piech. Eight best teams of the project were presenting their business ideas to the participants of the conference and jury, which consisted of the top Ukrainian experts in entrepreneurship, education, innovation and business, representatives of the private as well as public sector: Nikitin Yuriy, PhD, Head of the Department for Innovation and Technology Transfer of Institute for Super hard Materials NAS of Ukraine; Yaroslav Kologrivov, Director on Intellectual Property Issues of the Science Park "Kyiv Polytechnic"; Khymenko Oleg, Deputy Director of the Head of the department of scientific and technical infrastructure development of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; Gnat Volodymyr, head of the KALININ Invention Fund.

Three best ideas – winners of the competition “On virtual highway” were selected based on the overall scores obtained after the presentation of the finalists’ ideas during the conference. All the regional coordinators and participants of the projects received the Certificates of participation and the brochure of the project “On the virtual highway – the endless opportunities for your future business!”. The 3 winners have received a financial awards of 2000 USD and an opportunity to study in Start-Up School "Sikorsky Challenge" free of charge. Izabela Barczyk-Olszewska, founder of Polish Foundation of Communication, and Ivan Kulchytskyy, the president of "Agency of European Innovation" handed over the awards to the winners of the competetion: team QA Lance - web service to produce "perfect" software , team +2.The Rain Children - computer program for the development of children with autism and team MyRasp - web service which solves the problem of communication between students and teachers outside of the university.

Also, participants of the conference took part in the panel discussion "E-business in Ukraine: success stories, the ups and downs, legal obstacles" about the main trends of e-business development, the potential for cooperation between academic and business communities, current issues related to the development of entrepreneurship skills among Ukrainian students. Inna Malyukova, director of the Educational Methodical Complex “Institute of Postgraduate Education” and Yaroslav Kologrivov, Director on Intellectual Property Issues of the Science Park "Kyiv Polytechnic" have shared the experience of Science Park of NTUU KPI and Start-Up School "Sikorsky Challenge" in the development of innovations. Current issues in providing support of innovation activities at universities have been raised during debate: support of innovation activities at universities by Ivan Kulchytsky, Senior Expert of the project "On the virtual highway – the endless opportunities for your future business!", the president of "Agency of European Innovation" and experts in the field, who participated in the conference.

Organisers of the conference are thankful to all the finalists of the competition and participants of the conference and believe that the project will lead to creation of more startups in e-business and innovation field, and will facilitate the cooperation between universities and business community in ICT field in Ukraine.
